happy birthday, me...

Another year chucked off my life. 29 now. If masuk competition, this is the last year to be in the age group. Next year dah kena masuk junior veteran dah kut. Some may say i have another year before experiencing mid life crisis. The crisis so far for me is having to work my ass here in Melaka while my wife and soon to be born child in KL. It just dont click with me. I want to go back. And working here is like shit. Dah malas. Imagine not coming in the office for 3 straight days. But i somehow managed to send stories from the comfort of my rented house kan. My point is, I'm sick n tired of digging kos*mo's kinda of stories. All they ever want is 'tinjauan' this and 'tinjauan' that. I may have outgrown it, i guess. I am seriously hunting for a new vocation now. If else, i'll try to further my studies. Maybe. I dunno. But i need to get out of here fast. T.E.N.S.I.O.N. Aduh, bosan lah! Anyway, thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday. You guys will be at the back of my heart. And for kicks, I'll get the toy tank. How stupid useless things can satisfy you... Baca lagi!

WTF

I have a problem. My problem is in the form of a 40-ish year old man who since i met him last January, was bragging and tunjuk pandai everytime we met.
"I know this minister, aku ada kabel besar meja"
"Kalau stretching mesti macam ni " (during futsal game, which he is coward enuf to join)
...and many more.

I tried to knock some sense into him, taking care that he is much older than I am. Heh, what do you think the outcome was? Nada. Bit by bit, I'm starting to 'knock' him even harder. Telling him off whenever he brags, boasts or some sort. The latest one was: "Kalau tak pandai menari, jangan kata lantai tak rata". I said that to him when he refused to play futsal with us (he did came all the way, with attire and all, main je la!) JUST because the pitch was not up to the standard of the pitch the company he works with at a certain Jalan Riong have.
Aduh. What can I do with such people?
I wonder how his wife came to like him. Sengal la kau.

ps: this is the second person EXPORTED from Jalan Riong to Melaka who have the same attitude. Are they groomed like that? Baca lagi!

Tension

Dah seminggu telinga aku pekak sebelah. Bukanlah pekak betul, cuma sound dia kurang sikit sebab tersumbat. Been hearing ringing sound all week. Sakit sial. Eardrop yang doc bagi pun dah nak abis. Tapi tak baik-baik gak.

SAKITTT!!!

Nak keje pun susah. Kalau bercakap dengan orang lain, nak kena adjust kepala pusing bagi telinga kanan dengar. Duh. Pastu malang orang tu kena ulang 2-3 kali apa dia cakap sebab aku tak berapa dengar. Adeh...penat.

Malam ni kena jumpa doc balik. Tanya dia, apa dia boleh buat. Baca lagi!

Blast-it

You know the feeling when, you have put in your best effort into something, but at the end it was not all appreciated? Yes, it sucks. Now imagine you doing a free promotion of your boss's puny little state, but little do you get any recommendation for doing so. Yes, it sucks.

Sometimes its just exhausting when you are not appreciated. Just a simple "Good job" should do the trick. Plus, i just filled up a page for you. Isnt that worth something? Even guys in KL dont do that. Not unless they're told to.

I dunno. My performance review is looming fast. Come this 16 February, it will be a year that I have endured this. I would gladly endure a triathlon, but this...its something else.
I dunno. Baca lagi!

Panic @ the office!

Yes. Yours truly here had a panic attack at the office today. Why you might ask? Because i dont freakin know what to do today! Usually there will be events lined up for us to cover. But today, NADA. ZERO. YILEK. So, i panicked.

I arrive early in the office, around 10 just to breeze thru the newspaper, hoping to get a lead to write. There's one. Lucky. But still, i have to go out and look for something to write. At about 12pm, I went out with my trusty volvo. Kereta buruk la, bukan S40. Nothing particularly interesting to write about. So i went back to the office. Hmm..I was thinking to kill myself if i couldnt find a news by 3pm. At the office, i sat down for a while, thinking.

A few minutes later, i went out again, hoping to find some news. OMG, this is really killing me. Then i figured: If Kelantan bureau could publish a stry about 'nasi longkang' yesterday, why not i do a story on cendol? Haha.... So if those sicko's in KL (read=bosses) ask me: "why on earth you write about this fella selling cendol, lah", then i would say, "Kelantan boleh, apsal saya takleh?"

Lucky me, my day was saved. I hate going to work without knowing what to do. Blearghh.. Baca lagi!

Time really flies

Time really flies. Without even realising it, it has been two months since I first set foot on Malacca ground. And with that, it has been more than three months since I made any physical activities, let alone running or biking or heck, swimming. All because of work.

If in KL I used to be back at home by 8 something, just in time for gym or at least something, now at 8, ive just finish packing my stuff to go home. When to run? In the morning? Slim chance. Cycling? Bila la wei. Really miss doing runs/cycle with Azwar, Bacin, Ajeep, Grunge and everybody else.

But there’s more. There’s this boss in KL who kinda watches over us here in Malacca. He is an arse I tell you. To make things worse, he’a a Malaccan. Aint no shit. He likes to pester us with ridiculous demands just to make his state prominent in the paper. Duh. Get a life sucka. Or better, get your own paper.

He kinda kills the life out of the two of us here in Malacca. My colleague here, even contemplated leaving the company sometime in February or March because he couldnt handle the pressure anymore. Me? I’ll see how. I would really love to run again for sure. That will be among the factors, main factors for me to get a new lease of working life. Like I would to put it, ‘kalau ada peluang, sambar’.

Ironi

Ironinya, dia pula tegur aku : “Tolong, you tak payah cakap pelat Cina dengan I. I Islam, tau. Melayu”.

Terdiam aku. Bukan terdiam sebab dia tegur aku. Tapi terdiam sebab...tak apa lah.

Blow dried

Well, in a normal working life of a person, one ought to get the hair drier treatment from their bosses.

I just had mine recently. It just a simple miscommunication, really. And the move behind it was political. Uh, how I hate politics. Dirty, filthy politics. And politicians. And those who are in their payrolls. Perhaps I'll get a memo from my boss soon. Who knows. Well, shit happens. We just learn how to dodge them.

Sometimes the blow drying can be a bit on the emotional spectrum. Where the criminal is petty, the punishment can sometime be over la sangat...tapi takpe. Biasa la. Nak idup. Kena la tahan. Baca lagi!
